- Back to the Basics: This season will be going back to the basics, where there is no Redemption Island, Exile Island, nor Tribal Swaps, just you and 15 other contestants.
- Hidden Immunity Idols: There will be a hidden immunity idol clue for each of the 2 tribes, which is good until there are only five contestants remaining.
- Tribe Leaders: At the beginning of the game, both tribes voted for a tribe "leader." This leader would make decisions in challenges such as assigning tasks for tribe mates, sit-outs, etc.If a leader gets eliminated, the tribe must select a new one to replace them.
- Double Tribal Council: Both tribes would go to separate Tribal Council sessions to eliminate a player.
- Delayed Merge: There was a merge with 8 players remaining instead of the usual 10.
